EMILY SKYLE
Writer, Producer & Director
A former news anchor and home shopping host, Emily Skyle decided she wanted a career that didn’t require a teleprompter and allowed her to eat carbs. After spending a decade finding her voice on the Chicago stages of Second City and iO, she found her place behind the scenes. Her narrative and unscripted work has been seen on HBO, Travel Channel, Netflix, Hallmark and coming soon, on a Disney+ series starring Jeremy Renner. As a writer and director, her films have played at top tier Oscar qualifying film festivals on 4 continents.
As the founder of the Film NV Initiative, an organization focused on bringing a thriving film industry to the region, Emily launched the Cordillera International Film Festival, quickly growing it into the state’s largest premiere film festival with an annual attendance of over 15K. With awards valued at over 200K and a Grand Jury filled with Hollywood Icons & Legends, Cordillera enters into its 6th year as a Top 100 Best Reviewed Film Festival out of 10K world-wide.

(very expired) dating profile:
I like dogs first, then cats. I have bookshelves that actually contain books I have read. I can ski on snow, but not on water - although I excel at being dragged (awkwardly) underwater. I'm attracted to positive people because I'm positive. I am determined to fill up every page of my passport with stamps. I am tall. I love the relationship I have with my family. I enjoy wearing heels and love to camp - rarely at the same time. I'd rather do a physical activity than watch one. I'm not afraid to laugh at myself, which is a blessing, given that I am delightfully klutzy. I was born & raised in Alaska. I am a sucker for witty banter. I have friends that wear skinny jeans & scarves for no reason – as a result my musical tastes and pop culture references are broad, varied and up-to-date.
I enjoy writing, but not about myself...
